Ice-damaged Poa green. Earthquaked 8" and left open with no rolling, no covers, no top dress or fertilizer. Slices made on inside with 10" center. Two days later, temperatures plunged. Over the next 17 days, the average temperature was 28 degrees F.
Notice new roots. This was discovered after using standard aerification procedures hitting an Earthquake slice. Notice no rooting when cutting with sod knife 5" from Earthquake slice.
Conclusion: Earthquake is designed to relieve compaction by the forward motion and lateral movement, therefore, allowing air and water movement to follow through soil profile. It shatters and reshuffles soil with zero surface disturbance or disruption to play.
